The F-150 has six different engine options in the lineup to choose from including gasoline and diesel depending on your performance needs.
3.5-liter EcoBoost® Engine
When paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine gives you up to 375 horsepower and up to 470 pound-feet of torque. It's capable of towing up to 13,200 pounds and has features such as the PFDI system and twin intercooled turbochargers to help provide you with additional power when you need it.
3.0-liter Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel
250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque are put out of this diesel-powered engine. It's capable of towing up to 11,500 pounds while still maintaining up to an EPA-estimated 29 MPG on the highway. It can also haul up to 1,940 pounds as well for added versatility on the job site.
3.5-liter High-Output EcoBoost® Engine
Equipped on both the F-150 Raptor and F-150 Limited, this twin-turbocharged engine provides you with an impressive 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
2.7-liter Turbocharged EcoBoost® Engine
This EcoBoost® engine provides an impressive amount of power in a compact design. The cylinders and the upper block on the engine are built using high-strength compacted graphite iron for added durability. It puts out 325 horsepower and up to 400 pound-feet of torque.
5.0-liter TI-VCT V8 Engine
This powerful V8 engine provides the F-150 with its best-in-class payload capacity when paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission. You have 395 horsepower and up to 400 pound-feet of torque with features such as the PFDI system for added efficiency and performance. This 5.0-liter V8 can also make use of the CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package to convert the fuel type as well.
3.3-liter TI-VCT V6 Engine
The TI-VCT on this V6 allows the engine to be more evenly optimized. This V6 is paired with the six-speed automatic transmission to get you up to 290 horsepower and up to 265 pound-feet of torque.
With many of these powerful engines, you can pair them with the 10-speed automatic transmission instead of the standard six-speed. This 10-speed transmission allows for improved performance at the low to mid ranges and allows for different drive modes such as Sport, Tow/Haul, Snow/Wet, and EcoSelect.
To help with towing, the F-150 has a range of available trailering features such as the Pro Trailer Backup Assist that can help maneuvering with a trailer. Bath area shoppers can also equip the F-150 with a factory-stalled trailer brake controller for added control when towing trailers equipped with brakes.
The bed and body of the F-150 are built with a high-strength aluminum alloy design that allows for improved durability while also improving efficiency at the same time.
